Last week was another blast spent in the lap of nature with wild horses (my favorite animal) on the beach, lighthouses and miles and miles of endless beaches. Here's a picture I took
Yesterday we had some friends over for dinner. A nice couple with three boys between 4-13 years of age. They were absolute darlings, doted on my little one, said they would take care of him so I could spend time with the adults, humored him, read to him, the youngest one rightly pushed him away once when my naughty one started jumping on him, lugged a giant watermelon for us from their car and we all had such a blast.
Quite my idea of a perfect evening with friends. It is such a relief when you aren't being judged, when you don't have to watch out for someone trying to be sarcastic and getting your goat. I mentioned the neighbour incident to the mom who involved the boys and asked them what they thought. This morning I met the father, a colleague, at work and he told me that his boys couldn't stop talking of the Pickle. We were so grateful and relieved to have a fun evening with friends and loved every moment of it. The boys wanted white rice and I was so happy to make them some. They danced with me in a circle, even the 13 year old! Thanks, guys, for so much fun.
