On a cheerier note, we had a lovely evening yesterday. Pickle sat on his bike, we took turns in pushing him (the bike has one of those tall handles that don't require you walk like the hunchback after a few minutes), walked to the nearby grocery store to buy milk. We took a lovely long walk around the neighborhood and I loved looking at the houses getting ready for Halloween and enjoying the fall colors with the wreaths and colorful flowers. Z was telling me about a conversation he and his colleagues had that morning about the financial crisis while Pickle just strode on quietly as if understanding every single word. The weather was lovely, cool and just a wee bit nippy. We checked out a couple of new restaurants. One, a Mexican place, we were informed, very brusquely, by the owner doesn't open on Sundays, when we inquired about weekend breakfast, as they go to church. Good for her!! There I bit the bullet again for living in (thankfully one of the more liberal cities of) the Bible belt. It is a thick, broad belt, I tell you. The scornful look she gave me half wanted to eat her for breakfast. How dare you lesser mortals think of food on a Sunday when there is church!!
Anyhow, our otherwise perfect evening continued as we checked out a new ice cream store which seems very promising, I eyed some lovely colias bushes, we decided to enter this new pet store and Pickle loved the guinea pig and Hop the rabbit and all the fish. He said a hurried goodbye to them when we bribed him with a balloon at the grocery store.
We bought some milk and raspberries and started our walk back home :)
